Timber framing and post and beam construction provide more than just a solution to a structural problem. It’s not about finding the most cost-effective construction method. It’s about authenticity and about spaces that communicate their essence, their character, through the visible, sturdy wooden skeleton that withstands time and elements.
Consider the varied commercial projects we’ve been privileged to be a part of—from the largest horse barn in the United States to Google Fiber’s adaptive reuse of a 100 year-old building in Charlotte, North Carolina. These structures aren’t just buildings. They’re statements, assertions of a commitment to aesthetics, sustainability, and craftsmanship that elevate them beyond the purely functional.
And when it came to building our own manufacturing facility (see video below), we held ourselves to the same standard. It would have been easier—and cheaper—to erect a metal structure, but it wouldn’t have been true to who we are and what we value. We wanted to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. We built a timber frame facility because we believe in the authenticity and beauty of what we create.
The result? Clients now travel long distances to visit us, drawn not just by our work, but by our workspace as well. And our team benefits, too, working in a place they can take pride in, a space that inspires them every day.
Take a tour through a selection of the commercial timber frame projects we’ve completed over the years. Got questions or a project in mind? We work in North Carolina and throughout the United States. Feel free to contact us. Or better yet, come and visit our timber frame workspace. We promise we’re a friendly bunch. Our phone number? It’s 828-266-9663.
